Shedding the Shadows

A day to fade away.

Feelings that I wish to forsake,

Burdens I do not wish to carry,

These afflictions that cause my soul to ache.

Unwanted admirers,

Detrimental tendencies, 

A general lack of hope

And my behavioral discrepancies 

Ideas that I want to want.

Dreams that I need to obtain.

Searching for the spark

Before this light beings to wane. 

Entreating happiness,

Some simple peace of mind,

A general sense of wholeness

And a feeling of time.

Let this gloom wash away,

Let all these efforts at last defray,

Escape these many shades of gray

And give me a faith that is here to stay.
